This web site is intended for use by physicians who serve as MROs and for those individuals interested in the field.  We welcome your comments about this site or your questions regarding MROCC and the certification process.

MROCC Certification is valid for a six-year period; AAMRO certification for five years.  If you were previously certified through MROCC or AAMRO and have allowed your certification to lapse you may still be eligible for Recertification through MROCC.

MROCC offers a variety of ways to recertify your MRO credentials:

(1) following all MRO Training Courses sponsored by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)

(2) At MROCC Headquarters on an individual basis

(3) Online - at your home or office through a high-speed Internet connection

MROCC's  online recertification examination - that permits the MRO to use notes and reference materials  - is available to those physicians who were previously certified by either MROCC or AAMRO.

This is an examination that is taken online - at home or at your office - using a high-speed Internet connection, and completely satisfies the DOT requirement for MRO Certification (49 CFR Part 40).  MROs using this option have 30 days to complete and submit their answers, and may log on and off at-will throughout this time period.

This in-home or in-office examination is designed as a self-evaluation tool to help you measure and evaluate your own knowledge base, and offers a learning experience that assures you are confident and current in the performance and practice of your MRO duties.  Upon successful completion and passing of the recertification exam, a new certificate and recertification number will be issued and your name and information will be available in the searchable MROCC directory on the MROCC web site.

Detailed information on MROCC's online open-book recertification exam may be found on this web site and on the
recertification application form.  And, register for an online or onsite exam now with your credit card with our secure registration form.

If you need to meet the CME prerequisite, both ACOEM and ASAM offer MRO training courses throughout the year at various locations.  In addition, ACOEM offers a distance-learning tool that can be completed at home and on your timeframe. The CME is obtained by reading
MROCC's MRO Manual, and completing and submitting a self-assessment sheet directly to ACOEM.  Visit the ACOEM web site (www.acoem.org) or contact ACOEM's education department for further information: (847) 818-1800, ext. 390.
