The MRO Assistant Certification examination is open to non-physician staff who assist and are directly supervised by the Medical Review Officer. This examination is web-based and is accessible from your computer (PC or Mac) using a high-speed Internet Connection. Please carefully read the following before proceeding:
Evidence of Training:
MRO Assistants applying for MROCC's MROA Certification must show evidence of completion of an MRO Assistant training course sponsored by DATIA, SAPAA, or ACOEM, or an MRO training course sponsored by ACOEM or ASAM. This proof may be a certificate of course completion; a registration confirmation or receipt; and must be faxed or mailed to MROCC prior to logging on to the examination.
Individuals who have a minimum of three year's experience as an MRO Assistant may waive the training course requirement with a letter of recommendation from a currently certified MRO (must be currently certified by MROCC or AAMRO.) The letter must be from a MRO who has worked with the Assistant for a minimum of one year, and has knowledge of his or her competency as a MRO Assistant. The letter must be included as part of the application process.
After Submitting This Application:
1. Remember to print out the confirmation letter that follows hitting the "submit" button.
2. An email from Regonline@mrocc.org will be sent - normally within 24 hours - with exam instructions and log on details. This is your only confirmation from MROCC so make sure it does not go into your "junk mail". Once you register for the exam there are no refunds.
