COST EFFECTIVE CME FOR THE MRO

In this rapidly changing arena it is crucial for MROs to be up to date in the latest technologies, procedures and regulations.  MROCC's challenging and innovative manuals and CME activities are developed by leaders in the field of drug testing, and provide practical and detailed learning experiences for MROs in both regulated and non-regulated testing programs.

ACCREDITATION/CREDIT

MROCC CME activities offer AAFP Prescribed credit and may be used to fulfill state requirements for CME updating.

MROCC CME for Recertification

These CME activities are based on the The Medical Review Officer's Manual: MROCC's Guide to Drug Testing, 6th edition available from OEM Press.

Option 1: MROCC's 25 Hour Self-Study CME Activity

For those who need to recertify, this activity consists of reading the MRO Manual and 49 CFR Part 40, completing the CME evaluation, and passing the MROCC recertification examination. This is the most cost-effective means to recertify and there is absolutely no need to travel to a training course or an examination site. This activity fulfills DOT and HHS retraining requirements as well as MROCC recertification requirements for MROs. The cost of this activity is $695 and includes up to 25.00 AAFP Prescribed credits and the online recertification examination ($170 CME/$525 recertification examination). The price for this activity does not include the manual, which must be purchased separately from OEM Press.

The AAFP has reviewed MROCC MRO Manual Self-Study CME Activity and deemed it acceptable for up to 25.00 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credits. Term of Approval is from 01/01/2024 to 01/01/2025. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.

• Submit your CME Evaluation, Exam Registration, and Fees

Option 2: MROCC 15 Hour Self-Study CME Activity

For those who don't need to recertify but want MRO Specific CME, this activity consists of reading the MRO Manual and 49 CFR Part 40, completing the Self-Assessment questions, and submitting the CME Evaluation (recertification exam is not included). This convenient activity is for those who wish to keep abreast of the latest techniques and methods within the MRO arena, or those who need AAFP Prescribed credits to meet State Board or other licensure requirements.  The total cost for this self-assessment activity is $170 (plus the cost of the MRO Manual) and offers up to 15.00 AAFP Prescribed credit(s). This activity can be used to fulfill the retraining prerequisite for recertification at a later date as long as it is completed in the 5 years preceeding recertification.

The AAFP has reviewed MROCC MRO Manual Self-Study CME Activity and deemed it acceptable for up to 15.00 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credits. ACOEM:CDME Training Course (online activity)
This training course conforms the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) training curriculum modules and topics for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) on regulations and guidelines for conducting Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) driver medical examinations.

ACMT: Virtual Total Tox Course
The ACMT Virtual Total Tox Course is a comprehensive review of the scope of emergency toxicology and includes cutting-edge interventions and management options for poisoned patients. Lead by prominent experts in medical toxicology and emergency medicine, this three section course focuses on medical toxicology topics of interest to emergency providers, including toxicological issues of current clinical and public health importance. Learners will be presented with state-of-the-art updates on the evaluation and initial management of poisoning and exposure to medications, drugs of abuse, chemical terrorism, and environmental toxins.

DEA REQUIREMENT
The DEA has released guidance on the new one-time requirement for eight hours of training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders. The websites below are helpful resources for fulfill the requirement.
